What is Empírika?

Devised as a biannual and transient event, the Latin American Fair for Science, Technology and Innovation will begin in November 2010 with the expectation that celebrations for the eighth centennial anniversary of the founding of Salamanca University to last for eight years. It will have a number of objectives including:

• To highlight the fundamental roles that universities, research bodies and innovative companies play as creators and social promoters of knowledge.
• To encourage contact between university and scientific institutions, companies and the rest of society.
• Highlighting the importance of Science as a bridge to the numerous geographic and cultural spaces in existence and in doing so, focusing on the contributions that universities have had in this area for 600 years.
• Lastly, empirika will offer visitors a close, pleasing and recreational vision of science and technology, with an end that favors the promotion of Scientific Culture and an entrepreneurial spirit.
